On Windows, scanning is read-only, both the quick scan and the deep scan run, and the price and free allowance are the same. These are the differences in this version.
| Early access | The Windows version is new and has not been tested widely yet, on many PCs or card readers. If something goes wrong, please tell us. |
| Not code-signed yet | Windows warns when you open setup, and its permission prompts show Publisher: Unknown. More about the warning. |
| HEIC photos | Found and recovered, but there is no preview yet. They are marked Not checked. |
| Camera RAW | CR3, CR2, NEF, ARW, RAF, ORF, RW2, DNG and other RAW files are found and recovered as the original RAW files. The preview is the JPEG the camera stored inside the file, not the full RAW image, so they stay Not checked. |
| NTFS drives | No quick scan, so original names and folders are not recovered. The deep scan still finds photos, video, music, documents and archives. This is the same on a Mac. |
| One copy at a time | Only one copy of the app runs at a time. |
| Paying | Checkout offers Google Pay, PayPal and card. Apple Pay is only offered on a Mac. |
| The PC's own drive | Local Disk (C:) is listed, but scanning it isn't offered in this version. This is the same on a Mac. |
Not checked does not mean a file is broken. It means the app could not fully decode it to check. What the labels mean.
We will update this page as the gaps are closed.
