macOS says the app can't be opened

Data Recovery Pro is signed and notarised by Apple. If macOS still blocks it, re-download it from our download page and open it from Applications.

On Windows, see “Windows protected your PC” when you open setup.

Every release is signed with our Developer ID and notarised by Apple, so macOS normally just asks once whether you want to open an app from the internet.

If macOS blocks it

  1. Download it again from our siteOnly use the download page. A copy from anywhere else may have been changed. Delete the old copy first.
  2. Move it to ApplicationsDrag it from the .dmg window into Applications, and open it from there rather than from the .dmg.
  3. Use Open AnywayIf macOS still blocks it, open System Settings › Privacy & Security. Under Security, click Open Anyway next to Data Recovery Pro, then confirm.

If macOS says the app is damaged, the download was probably interrupted. Delete it, download it again and repeat the steps.

If it's still blocked, contact support with the exact message and your macOS version. A screenshot helps.
