Uninstall Data Recovery Pro on your Mac

Quit the app and drag it from Applications to the Bin. Its data folder stays unless you delete it, which keeps your purchases.

Steps

  1. Quit Data Recovery ProChoose Data Recovery Pro › Quit Data Recovery Pro, or press Command-Q.
  2. Open ApplicationsIn Finder, choose Go › Applications.
  3. Move the app to the BinDrag Data Recovery Pro to the Bin in the Dock, or Control-click it and choose Move to Bin.
  4. Empty the BinWhen you are sure, Control-click the Bin and choose Empty Bin.

The card reader the app uses lives inside the app and stops when you quit, so there is nothing else to remove.

Your data folder

Dragging the app to the Bin leaves its data folder in place:

~/Library/Application Support/app.datarecoverypro.desktop

It holds receipts for the cards you paid for, the install ID, your sign-in, saved scan progress and the list of past recoveries. Keep it if you might reinstall: your purchases are still there next time.

To remove it too, choose Go › Go to Folder in Finder, paste the path above, and move the folder to the Bin. The app's cache is in ~/Library/Caches/app.datarecoverypro.desktop.

Other things to know

  • Recovered files are not touched. They stay where you saved them, usually in your Pictures folder.
  • Uninstalling does not delete your account. To do that, see delete your account.
  • If you deleted the data folder and need a purchase back, sign in in the app with the email you paid with. Purchases can be restored while they are within their 7 days. Restore a purchase.
