Scanning, previewing and recovery all happen on your computer. We don't collect or see file names, folder names, file contents, thumbnails, scan results or the list of drives on your computer. The app has no analytics or tracking.
When the app goes online
| Paying | Paddle's checkout opens in your browser with a random install ID and the card's volume serial number (a number its file system assigns). Paddle collects your name, email, country and payment details. We never see your card details. |
| Collecting your receipt | The app sends its install ID to fetch the receipt. The receipt holds the order ID, install ID, volume serial and dates. The app checks it offline from then on. |
| Checking for updates | Once each time the app opens. |
| Restore with AI (optional) | Only the photos you tick, as copies reduced to 2,048 pixels on the long side, with your install ID. They go through our server to OpenRouter and the AI model, and nobody keeps them. See what happens to photos sent for AI restore. |
| Signing in (optional) | Your email address, to send the 6-digit code. Once signed in, the app fetches your purchases and receipts. |
